Networking. Relationships. Business!
Trusted Advisor Network
TAN is dedicated to promoting high-level networking and relationships among professionals who are trusted advisors to their clients and to one another.
TAN has created a set of principles embraced by all of its members:
Networking is about quality relationships – TAN is not a tips club. It is a consortium of quality professionals who meet regularly in order to enhance both their business and personal lives.
Networking is about giving – Before you can expect to get, you have to be willing to give.
Networking is personal – Professionals work with those they trust. Trust comes from becoming knowledgeable about one another above and beyond just professional endeavors.
Networking is a skill – TAN members are dedicated to the continued promotion of their networking skills.
Networking builds personal capabilities – The more quality professionals you meet and learn about, the more capabilities you have to bring to your clients and contacts.
TAN is inclusive – TAN welcomes all quality professionals who are dedicated to its principles. We do not limit membership to just one of a particular profession though we do maintain a balance of business expertise.
TAN is committed to your success – We encourage members to expand personal networks, make valuable business contacts, and build new and enjoyable personal relationships.
TAN Helps Members Build Personal Relationships
Trust begins when people know one another on a personal level. TAN hosts summer and holiday socials so members can bring friends, spouses and business associates to mingle in comfortable settings. The social committee also plans informal Happy Hour get-togethers where members can further enhance their relationships.
TAN Is Involved In Local Communities
"Give-to-get" is one of TAN's key principles. One way to demonstrate this is by giving back to our communities. The 2nd Annual ARCA/TAN Golf Tournament for New Mexico was held at Paako-Ridge Golf Course (one of the nations top public courses) in 2012. The 3rd annual event is scheduled for September 26, 2013.
You must be a trusted advisor who works directly with business owners and/or C-level management.
You must be invited to a meeting by a TAN member.
You must attend at least two meetings before you may submit a membership application.
You may attend a maximum of three meetings before you must submit an application online.
Your application must be approved by the membership committee. You will know that you have been accepted when you receive your annual dues invoice.
Most important of all, you must be a professional who understands and practices collaboration and the "give-to-get" mindset. TAN members support one another in their business endeavors and believe that opportunities are abundant when they are shared.
TAN is an organization that promotes serious collaboration between professionals who serve owners of businesses and C-level corporate officers (CEO, COO, CFO, CTO, etc.).
A member's business activities should primarily have them working with and developing significant relationships with business owners and C-level corporate officers.
In TAN we seek to serve the whole community of business owners who are the clients of our members - the small company, the middle-sized company, and the large company. Therefore, we seek a full range and breadth of advisors who can be of assistance to all types of businesses and organizations.
Learning and Practical Application

- Access to the TAN web site which includes profiles of fellow members, a discussion board, member news, group email broadcast, networking tips and other tools to help develop your network relationships and build business.
- TAN groups on LinkedIn and FaceBook.
- Building a network of people whom you trust to refer to your valued clients.
- Business referrals from highly professional individuals who have great credibilty with their own clients.
- Becoming a better networker with the help of your friends/business associates.
TAN has provided an excellent network of exceptional professionals to learn from and with which to work on behalf of my clients. What I didn't expect was the level of informal mentoring that the founders and others provide. As a long time corporate professional, it provides a group of "colleagues" that has made consulting all the more rewarding.

You can get anything done in this world if you don't care who gets credit (attributed to President Reagan). TAN embodies the concept of "giving to get." I am a strong supporter of the concept and training afforded by TAN. If you invest in the concepts and training, you are going to be a better advisor to your clients and will expand your client base beyond your ability to serve.

A Circle of Trusted Advisors
Prior to joining TAN, I had a great circle of colleagues in my own field. Now I have an amazing circle of colleagues across a wide range of fields. This makes me a much more valuable Trusted Advisor to my own clients, and has also enriched my professional life. A few of these new colleagues now fall in the category of professional "friends" – this was an unexpected reward.
Shauna Rampley, Soaring Eagle Institute, Albuquerque
"Quality" seems to sum up the type of individuals who were at the TAN Social. To say the least, my wife enjoyed meeting such fine people and having stimulating conversations that fell well outside the realm of sippy cups, "my little pony", and "is his diaper dirty already?"
All three of you deserve a hearty pat on the back for developing and nurturing such a successful group in such a short amount of time. I'm grateful to be associated with TAN and thank you all for the hard work you have put in to make TAN what it is already.
Justin McKinney, St. Louis
One of the greatest benefits for me is that I now have a number of resources for my clients that I did not have before. I have qualified contacts in a number of areas that I know I can send clients to. and know that they will be taken care of. Of course. I have received some referrals which I have been very grateful for but being able to better serve the existing clients I have has been great. The other benefit is that this entire group has made me take a look at my career and what I want out of it. The level of professionalism in this group is unbelievable and has made me take a look at where I am in my career and how much better I can do and has made me really start focus in more on my future and where I want it to go. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be involved with such a great group of professionals.

Learning and Friendships
Every TAN meeting I learn something new about business and about people. Trust is our core value, TAN members give and earn trust everyday. In my recent departure from being a high level policy adviser on nuclear waste transportation, I was concerned that I was leaving behind an exceptional and intellectually stimulating peer group. The friends and colleagues I have gained through TAN have more than made up for that loss.

Serving Clients with TAN Partners
TAN fits in perfectly with our business strategy. We work with strategic partners to help meet the needs of our clients for those services we don't offer. The TAN program and philosophy helps us establish and strengthen relationships that are win-win-win for everyone involved. And unlike networking groups, no pressure to bring a lead to every meeting.

Trusted Advisor Network is a group of highly experienced business professionals who care about each other on a personal as well as business level. We tend to build strong trusting relationships based on our shared business experiences. Each of us takes the time to congratulate, commiserate and counsel other members and their clients personally as well as professionally. Serious about our work, we have a collective sense of humor that creates a special collaborative atmosphere that is unique to TAN.

A Gathering of Leaders
TAN brings together trusted advisors to the leaders of industry and communities. Each time trust is growing between professionals a relationship is formed that can be compared to a bank account with the trusted advisor and the client making frequent deposits. Bringing many account holders together to form a common fund in which expertise and experience is contributed so everybody gets high dividends is the essence of sharing. TAN's fund is broad and getting bigger every week, allowing everybody to benefit from the strength and depth of the many deposits we all make on a daily basis.

Trusted Advisors For My Clients
TAN is a highly effective organization for business professionals because it is based on the bedrock principle that effective relationships are built on trust. TAN has helped me grow my consulting practice because I now have a network of trusted colleagues on whom I can rely to help me reliably and quickly solve a range of issues for my clients - in each case with full confidence that my client will be exceptionally well served.
